About KOBETA

Business intelligence should not be a privilege.

KOBETA is building a more accessible way for small businesses to understand their numbers, anticipate their needs and make better-informed decisions.

Every business generates information. Every entrepreneur makes decisions. Yet understanding what those decisions mean for a business remains unnecessarily difficult for many small businesses.

We are developing an intelligent business management and decision-support copilot that brings business information, financial logic and AI-powered assistance closer to the entrepreneurs who need them.

Our ambition is to help small businesses move beyond recording transactions towards understanding performance, anticipating needs and making better-informed decisions.

The challenge

The problem is not a lack of ambition. It is a lack of accessible insight.

Running a business means making decisions with financial consequences every day.

Answering these questions requires more than recording transactions. It requires a clear view of what is happening inside the business.

Yet business information can be scattered across notebooks, spreadsheets, payment records and everyday conversations. Traditional financial tools may be difficult to navigate without specialist knowledge, while basic record-keeping often leaves entrepreneurs to interpret the numbers alone.

We believe there is an opportunity to make business information more accessible, practical and useful in everyday decisions.

That is the problem KOBETA is here to address.

Is this sale profitable? Which costs are reducing my margin? Has a customer payment become overdue? Will there be enough cash to cover upcoming expenses? Can this opportunity support sustainable growth?
KOBETA

From business data to better-informed decisions.

KOBETA is an intelligent business management and decision-support copilot designed for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Our product direction brings together three connected ideas.

  1. 01

    Understand your business

Make essential business information easier to organise and interpret, including income, expenses, costs and customer payments, according to the features available in the platform.

  2. 02

    See the financial implications

Help entrepreneurs engage with questions about pricing, margins, outstanding payments and cash flow, using relevant business information and financial logic.

  3. 03

    Make more informed decisions

Use AI-powered assistance to make business information easier to understand and to support practical thinking about possible next steps.

KOBETA is not intended to replace an entrepreneur’s judgement or the expertise of a qualified financial professional. Its purpose is to make business information more useful to the person responsible for making the decisions.

Our mission

To make business intelligence and informed decision-making more accessible to small businesses.

We want entrepreneurs to have a clearer understanding of their business, a better view of their financial position and more confidence when evaluating their options.

Our vision

A future where the ability to understand and grow a business does not depend on its size.

We envision a world in which useful business intelligence is not reserved for companies with dedicated finance teams, specialist advisers or enterprise-level systems.

Our starting point is the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo and Belgium. Our longer-term ambition is to design a solution attentive to the realities of entrepreneurs in African markets and within their diaspora.

What we believe

The principles behind the product.

01Accessibility over complexity
Business tools should help people understand their business, not create another barrier to doing so. We aim to make financial concepts more approachable and relevant to everyday decisions.
02Clarity over false certainty
Business decisions deserve clear explanations. Calculations, estimates, assumptions and AI-generated suggestions should not be confused with one another. When information is incomplete, its limitations matter.
03Local context matters
Currencies, payment practices, commercial environments and business needs differ across markets. Building for entrepreneurs means taking these differences seriously instead of assuming that one approach works everywhere.
04AI in service of human judgement
AI can help make information more accessible, but it should not remove the entrepreneur from the decision. Our direction is to support understanding and consideration, not to present automated output as unquestionable advice.
05Respect for entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs are not defined by the limitations of their tools or circumstances. They are people making decisions, creating value, serving customers and building economic opportunities. Our language and product approach should reflect that agency.
Responsible AI

Responsible AI begins with responsibility.

AI creates opportunities to make business information easier to interpret. It also requires care, particularly when information may influence financial decisions. Our approach is guided by the following principles.

01
Understandability
Explanations should be as clear and useful as possible.
02
Transparency
Relevant assumptions, uncertainties and limitations should not be hidden.
03
Human agency
Entrepreneurs remain responsible for their decisions.
04
Data responsibility
Business and personal information should be handled with appropriate safeguards.
05
Context
Outputs should reflect the information available and the context in which they are used.

These principles guide the development of KOBETA. The safeguards and capabilities available in practice depend on the features implemented in the current product and will continue to require review as the platform evolves.

Our journey

Built with a clear starting point.

KOBETA is online and in its launch phase.

We are building the product, refining the experience and working towards a solution that addresses the practical realities of small-business management.

At this stage, we believe credibility comes from being clear about what exists today, what is still being developed and what we aim to achieve next.

Rather than presenting unverified growth figures or premature claims, we want our progress to be demonstrated through the product itself, meaningful use, feedback and relationships built over time.
